Review: CND Vinylux

I saw this nail paint advertised to last a week if you use the topcoat with it too. I love the look of painted nails yet am terrible at remembering to paint them, or staying still, so this looked awesome. I decided to test it out to see how long it lasted. I’ve never used CND nailvarnish before. Their name reminds me of Hippies (am I the only one?)

Day 1

Yes, my fingers stick out like that. I really love this colour, yet I cannot remember the name of it (nor find my bottle – I’M SO ORGANISED)

Day 2

Chip free

Day 3

Image

Bad lighting because I deviously took this while on a trip to an art gallery doing work. There’s a slight chip on my index finger, but that’s because I have an uneven nail surface there. No chips anywhere else

Day 4

Image

More chips on my index finger and third finger (is that the right name? The swear-y one…). Other nails are fine. It looks like my thumb is chipped but honestly I’m just crap at painting thumbs.

Day 6

WHERE IS DAY 5? WHY IS THIS OUT OF ORDER? WHY IS THERE A BEIGE SPLINT ON YOUR HAND?

I fractured my wrist, the scaphoid bone for the technical amongst you and have a temp cast on it, and so day 5 didn’t get a photo. But it looks similar to day 6. By now I would touch it up.

Overall opinion?

This lasts longer on me than other nail varnishes (my other hand hardly chipped) but it DOES still chip. I’d give it a 7/10. I recently found one that is supposed to last 2 weeks, so I shall be giving that a try next. Have you tried any long lasting nail paints? What d’you guys think?
